A Little Interruption

It's good to have been missed from the local blogosphere. Dozens of e-mails and a few phone calls to see what's been going on. I've been dealing with a friend's unexpectedness illness, beginning a new semester and organzing a few neighborhood walks. I hope to be back to a regular blogging schedule during the next week.
There's a lot going on in Midtown regarding the pending demolition of an historic structure on Coe Place. A few "Near East Side" activists are coordinating a campaign to save this structure from the jaws of "demoltion by neglect." Some concrete news very soon.
Back to the blogging.

There is a quality even meaner than outright ugliness or disorder, and this meaner quality is the dishonest mask
of pretended order, achieved by ignoring or suppressing the real order that is struggling to exist and to be served.
