Walking with Stip...2007

Had the chance to revisit parts of the medical campus last week with Stevan Stipanovich. We were there in March 2006 - Walking with Stip... - and frequent fixBuffalo readers know he's played a huge part in the near East side's re-birth. He authored a portion of the City's - Organic Revitalization - a plan for the Artspace impact area. Stevan's a friend of Coe Place and while not yet blogging on his own, he's contributed various pieces to Buffalo Rising about this portion of emerging Buffalo...

On Friday, after leaving Ulrich's, we walked through the medical campus, toured the interior of Performing Arts HS and walked around Artspace. Found it rather odd that Kaminski Park, next to Roswell was all locked-up. Anyone know why?

Spotted these new signs all around the Artspace complex, too. Still sort of tough for pedestrians around the site. Check out the slide show for addtional pix of the new live/work units at Artspace. Love the black brick!

Here's the slide show - Walking w/ Stip!

Another successful tour. Construction tour of the new Performing Arts, tour of the Med Campus, and who could for get sneaking into the lobby of the new Roswell Park/UB Med Campus building! ;)

There is a quality even meaner than outright ugliness or disorder, and this meaner quality is the dishonest mask
of pretended order, achieved by ignoring or suppressing the real order that is struggling to exist and to be served.
